The HP OmniBook 3 16 is a large-screen budget laptop that excels in battery life and delivers solid performance for everyday productivity. Powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X chip, it sets a new record for longevity among laptops tested by CNET.

Design and Build

The laptop features a mix of plastic and aluminum. While not premium, the build quality feels solid for its price class. The underside design makes it easy to carry, and at 1.7 kg (about 3.7 lbs), it's reasonably portable for a 16-inch device.

Performance

The reviewed model comes with an 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon X X1-26-100 processor, 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and a 1TB SSD. Although the chip is a generation older, it handles everyday tasks, web browsing, and office work smoothly. The integrated NPU (45 TOPS) qualifies it as a Copilot+ PC.

Display

The 16-inch IPS screen has a 1920x1200 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Brightness peaks at around 300 nits, but color coverage is excellent – it reproduces 100% of both sRGB and P3 gamuts.
